LightSwitch Release

LightSwitch is being released today. LightSwitch provides users with a simple, yet powerful web hosting solution. Bundled with Lighttpd and PHP 5, it gives Mac users the power to host their own website, without the worries of configuring a web server.

Head Elf

Evidence of non-released features in Leopard.

It's obvious that in leopard, a lot of features where cut. When i was looking around the contents of the new finder in leopard I stumbled upon proof of a feature that didn't make it to final production.

Inside "/System/Library/CoreServices/Finder.app/Contents/Resources/" I found these files below:
Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.us

BackupSnapshot:
Thanks ImageShack!

backupbadge:
Thanks ImageShack!

backupbadge2:
Thanks ImageShack!

These appear to be icons that where left into the final release. Probably having to do with time machine. If we dig into this a bit more we find that ZFS supports snapshots which was rumored to be a bootable filesystem that leopard would run on, latter found to be untrue. Maybe we'll see it in a latter release of leopard, hopefully with more refined icons!

Digg it here.

Clutch is released

Lights go on

After a long senior school year I'm finally ready to get back down to making new software for the mac. While working with some of the Transmission team on a future WebUI it gave me an idea to make a decent web-server pack for mac. This pack will contain probably some of the following, LightTPD, Sqlite, MySQL, PHP5 and be as easy to install onto your system as any other mac application. When it's done, I plan to have a user-interface that can fully control the highly configureable features that live deep within lighttpd's core. If there is any other FOSS web ui I should include in this pack drop me a line at my email and I'll try to work it into it.

SoftwareElves

Oh NO!

Due to a hard drive failure we lost the website source files. Due to this, the site has been redone and alot of site content has probably been removed.

PS: you can find the old site here
